Home Remedies for Abscessed Tooth
In case of tooth abscess, pus accumulates in the tissues of the jaw bone and the tooth which is infected. It originates due to bacterial infection in the pulp of the tooth. Home remedies for abscessed tooth are useful and gives quick relief from the disorder.

- Lemon: Take a glass of water and add 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice to it. Swirl and swish your mouth with it. It also relieves from pain and treats the infection in your mouth.
- Tobacco: Chew a little tobacco at the position where the tooth is paining. It gives relief from tooth pain.
- Salt: Apply salt to the paining tooth. It gives pain relief.
- Vanilla: Dab vanilla extract to the abscessed tooth. It gives quick relief from pain.
- Tea: Keep the tea bag in boiling water, squeeze it a little and hold it on the abscessed tooth. It tackles with the infection.
- Oregano Oil: Apply oregano oil drops directly to the tooth and gum. Massage it well. It gives pain relief.
- Tea and Salt: Add some salt in boiling water; insert a tea bag in it steep it and place it on the affected tooth. It works as a quick pain reliever.
- Garlic: In case of severe toothache, put the thinly sliced garlic or crushed garlic on the affected tooth. It gives a quick pain relief. Fresh garlic irritates the gums, so you will not be able to hold for longer duration. Repeat this at the interval of one hour.
- Clove Oil: Take few drops of clove oil on the cotton ball and place it on the affected tooth. It gives relief from infection and relieves from pain too.
- Onion: Place a slice of onion inside the mouth. Hold it near the abscessed tooth. It removes the infection. Instead of just putting the onion slice in mouth, you can wrap it in bandage and use.
- Salt and Baking Soda Poultice: Mix baking soda and salt in same proportion, Take a wet cotton bandage or a cotton ball. Dip it in the mixture and place it in the mouth between cheek and the abscessed tooth. Keep it for several hours. Repeat it thrice or four times a day. It drains away the infection from the abscessed tooth.
- Raw potato: Keep the slice of raw potato in the mouth between the affected tooth and cheek. It tackles with the infection and swelling reduces and pain as well.
