Bee Sting Allergy Home Remedy

A bee sting means a sting from a bee which is different form the sting of other insects. People who are allergic to bee sting may have an anaphylactic reaction that can be potentially deadly. When a honey bee stings, it releases pheromones which prompts the neighboring bees to sting as well. A honey bee stings only when it perceives that its hive is threatened.

Bee venom has toxins like melittin and other biogenic amines and histamines that are responsible for pain and itching. The bee sting consists of three parts, one is the stylus and the other two are the barbed slides on either side of the stylus. When a bee stings, it is drawn by the barbed slides which moves up and down alternately on the stylus. When a honey bee stings, it not only leaves behind the stinger but also a part of its abdomen, digestive tract, nerves and muscles. Only honey bees are killed during a sting but not other bee species.

Bee sting rarely causes any problem but with the exception that if the person is allergic to the venom it can be little serious and can prove to be fatal.
