  • Home remedies using salt: Salt is considered great for excreting the toxicants from the body. This is the quickest and easiest home remedy. Just moisten the infected area with some moisturizer or simply with water. Apply household salt on it. It will stop the itching immediately.

  • Apple cider vinegar: Try applying apple cider vinegar. Rub it on your skin to stop the itching.

  • Toothpaste: Another fast home remedy for mosquito bites is to use toothpaste. Take a bit of toothpaste and dab it onto the mosquito bite. This will stop the itching quickly. Using peppermint toothpaste is better because it also soothes the bite.

  • Calamine Lotion: Applying calamine lotion is also an effective home remedy for mosquito bites.

  • Ammonia: Ammonia works great for mosquito bites. It is an effective itch eliminator. Use some ammonia to apply on the skin.

  • Witch Hazel: Take some baking soda and make a paste with witch hazel. Apply the paste on affected area for around 15 minutes.

  • Aloe: Aloe holds top position on the list of home remedies for mosquito bites. It is useful for both elimination of the itch and healing the wound. You can prepare aloe vera gel at home or can apply aloe juice. There are some readymade aloe products available in market. You can pick up one of them too.

Take a lemon and cut it half. Scratch the skin with the soft peel of lemon. This will stop the itching sensation and also prevents the scratches. Do not use fingernails for scratching your skin ever.   • Deodorant: You can also rub some deodorant on the mosquito bite. This will give you relief from itching instantly. This remedy can be used for other mosquito bites also.

  • Baking soda: You can try baking soda as an instant effective home remedy for mosquito bite. Mix the baking soda with some water and make a paste of it. Apply the paste on the skin affected. This will stop your itching problem instantly.

  • Garlic Salt: When you have a huge problem of mosquito bites and find no relief, try this home remedy. Mix one teaspoon of garlic salt and one teaspoon of seasoning salt with four teaspoons of water. Apply the paste on your skin. It may give you a mild burning for 5 minutes but this burning will treat the problem permanently.

  • Bleach: Bleach is very helpful to treat the skin in case of a mosquito bite. Take bleach on your fingertip and apply it to your skin. This will prevent the itching of skin.

  • Atis juice: You can prevent the mosquito bites from getting swollen up with the help of atis juice. The juice reduced from unripe fruit of atis and seeds can prevent the swelling caused by a mosquito bite.

  • Saliva: Saliva is the best remedy for so many problems. Just lick the area of skin if possible. This will prevent the itching quickly.

Chigger Bites:

  • To treat chigger bite, apply nail polish remover. It contains spirit and gives a quick relief to chigger bite problem.

  • You can try using bacon grease on the affected skin area. This home remedy is also very effective.

  • Simply apply cold rub on the skin. The petroleum contained in the rub helps to choke the chigger and menthol present in it gives a soothing relief.

  • A combination of phenol and camphor with mineral spirits will also be helpful for shedding this problem.

  • Taking a hot water bath is an excellent home remedy for chigger bites.
