The smell of this ingredient irritates the dogs a lot and thus it helps to keep them away. Cayenne pepper is widely used in dog repellent products that are available in the market. Capsicum mixed in this pepper enhances the repellent effect. You can get this pepper in any spice store easily. If you want to save your yard or the garden from dogs, sprinkle cayenne pepper on plants and on land to deter the dogs from bothering your plants. This remedy allows you to use it boundless as it does not make any harm to plants but keeps the dog far away. Spreading it inside the house may stain the floor. Dogs are very sensitive to smells; keep a few chilies in the corners. 3-4 chilies kept in a corner will make an efficient deterrent. Water: If it is your cute small puppy, who is being mischievous, you may not like to use harsh remedies to keep him away. Here is a simple solution for your problem. Fill a spray bottle with plain water and spray it on the pup's face whenever he goes near the plants or kitchen. Repeating this 4-5 times will give him an idea of not repeating the same. This is a good technique to train your pup. You cannot use any repellent product on your favorite couch or bed if you want to keep the pet away from this. Here again, water spray bottle will help you to fix it as the water will not harm your bed sheets, couches etc and you will make the dog learn not to sit on it. Offensive Smells: Some other offensive smell can be used as dog repellent. The smelling sense of dogs is much higher as compared to humans. The smell we generally avoid can be intolerant for dogs. For keeping the dog away from the furniture, soak a cotton ball in rubbing alcohol or ammonia and place it where it is not visible but the smell can deter the dog. You can also spray the rubbing alcohol in the outdoor areas by mixing it with double quantity of water. One should use these remedy when no is at home to keep an eye on pets and it is needed to ensure that the pets are away from the furniture.
