Home Remedies for Athlete's Feet
Athlete's foot is the skin infection which is found in many people. It is caused at the bottom of the feet. It is caused due to 'ringworm' fungus. Fungus flourishes at the moist, warm areas. Home remedies for athlete's feet include the herbs and simple things which we use in our day to day life.

Home Remedies for Athlete's feet
- Cornstarch: Before putting socks and shoes, spread and massage lightly the cornstarch at the bottom of the foot
- Tea tree oil: Add approximately 3 to 4 tablespoons of tea tree oil in water. Put your feet in it for 10 minutes. Dry it and apply few drops of oil to the feet.
- Salt and White Vinegar: Add two tablespoon of salt in half a cup of vinegar. Pour it in warm water. Put your feet in it for 10 to 15 minutes and dry well. Apply baking soda later. This is one of the effective home remedies for athlete's feet.
- Urine: Urine therapy is famous for many body disorders. Many people take the urine after getting up early in the morning which treats many body disorders. Apply urine to the feet and let it be as it is for at least half an hour. Wash your legs and dry them thoroughly. Uric acid in the urine kills the fungus.
- Brewer's yeast and Honey: Mix two tablespoons of honey and some brewer's yeast and apply it to the feet twice a day. It is also very effective home remedy for athlete's feet.
- Clorox: Add 1/4 cup of Clorox in warm water. Put your legs in it for 15 minutes. Take it out and dry it with a towel. No need to wash them. If your skin is sensitive to bleaching agents, then only wash your legs. Follow it before going to sleep for several days. It treats the athlete's foot very well at the early detection stage.
- Garlic: Place garlic slices in the shoes and wear it. It is an excellent home remedy over the antifungal drugs available in the market.
- Olive leaf extract: Apply olive leaf extract to the feet as it is excellent antifungal agent. It can cure many other infectious diseases too.
- Use cotton socks: Cotton absorbs sweat easily maintaining the feet dry. It restricts the fungal growth to overcome athlete's feet.
- Take 6 aspirins and dissolve it in alcohol which is used for medicinal purpose. Shake well and apply gently on clean, dry feet. Follow this thrice a day till you get rid of the athlete's feet.
- Do not go barefooted at public places such as swimming pools, public showers, rest rooms etc. as these are the places where fungal growth is susceptible.
- Apply antifungal sprays at the bottom of the feet, toes and fingers. It restricts the fungal growth and relieves from the disorder.
- Baking soda: Put your feet in baking soda for half an hour daily. It maintains acid base balance and keeps the feet dry.
- Cinnamon: Take 4 cups of water and boil it. Add 8 -10 cinnamon sticks to it. Put it to boil on low flame now. Allow it to simmer for five minutes. Use this liquid to clean the feet.
- Mahaa Marichyaadi Tailam: It is the oil made from black pepper extract with other ingredients. It is rich with antifungal and ant itching properties. Take few drops on a cotton ball and rub your feet thrice or four times a day. Follow this for three to four weeks. It works well on athlete's feet.
Home remedies for athlete's feet are simple to follow. A diabetic person has to take a lot of care as healing rate is very less. Be careful as this is the contagious disorder. Proper care and consistency will definitely relieve you from this disorder.
