- In most cases the blisters formed requires no treatment as the fluid is readily absorbed with some new skin formed on and under the affected area.
- When a blister pops out it has the tendency to contract some infections. The best thing is to do is to leave the blister alone.
- Large painful blisters can be treated and cleaned by using some alcohol. A sterilized needle can be used to pierce the blister and allow this to drain from one side. After this use some anti-biotic cream and cover this properly. As this will prevent any kind of infection.
- A common mistake done by many of us is when a loose skin is noticed from a broken blister; the first thing you do is pull them off or cut them out. This skin is very effective and acts as a shield to the new skin.
- For a broken blister, some adhesive bandage should be used for the blisters. You can also use a gauze pad and change the bandage frequently. Allow this to dry at night, hence keep them uncovered at night.
For the foot blisters, you can try one of the following methods:
- Use a duct tape in the part of the foot which is highly sensitive to blisters. This acts as a shield and prevents the friction between the foot and the shoes and reduces the chances of blisters to occur. However keep a note, that you never place a tape on a blister that has occurred already. This may be otherwise become painful and become prone to infections.
- You can also try applying some petroleum lotion or jelly on the area of the shoes or the feet. This will make them slippery and cause less friction between the feet and the shoe.
- The next time you purchase a pair of shoe, try going for a high quality and well-fitted shoe as this helps to prevent any blister formation. A shoe which is not fitted properly causes the skin to rub constantly with the shoe and result in some painful formation of blisters.
- You can also wear some silk socks that will help you to prevent blisters.
- Another simple method is by sprinkling some baby powder on the feet. This is a common prevention for blisters.
