- Roast and make a powder of the root of turmeric plant. Take 3 grams of powder regularly 2 times a day. This is also one of the useful home remedies for cough.

- If you have dry cough gargle with warm spinach juice.

- Grind 100 grams raisins in a mixture with water. Add about 100 grams of sugar to it. Now heat the mixture till it becomes saucy. Take this sauce about 20 grams daily at bed time. This will eliminate the cough and give you relief.
- Chew 4 black peepers and 4 leaves of holy basil's. It will prevent cough along with other respiratory system disorder.
- In 1 cup of boiling water crush 1 medium sized onion. Add 1 lemon juice and honey to it. Drink this mixture 2 to 3 times a day.
- In 1/2 cup of warm rum add 1 packet of coffee. Sip it while hot. This is an excellent cough remedy.
- Add a few drops of Juniper essential oil in hot water. Use this as an inhalant.
- Drink hot carrot juice to improve the general health status and prevent cough.
- Take some mint leaves and eucalyptus leaves and boil them in water. Inhale the vapors. It will cure the cough.
- In 1 cup of boiling water add 1 teaspoon of marjoram. Leave it for 10 to 15 minutes. Drink it 3 times a day. This will eradicate the cough and provide relief.
Diet for cough:
Person suffering from cough should take proper balanced diet food. Avoid strictly mutton, sugar, chocolates, caffeine and all types of spicy and oily foods. Cold drinks and ice creams should also be avoided.
