- For dog skin allergies which mostly cause itching can be treated by giving your dog a cool or warm bath depending on the environment. This may relieve your dog from itching. Further colloidal oatmeal can be added to the bath.
- One of the best home remedies for dog allergy that causes itchy feet is you can keep their feet in cool water which is mixed with Epsom salts.
- The itching caused by ear mites around the dog's ear can be taken care off by soaking cotton in mineral water and wiping the ear with it will temporarily help.
- DOG FLEAS are parasites that survives on the blood of the dogs. They are the most common problem in dogs. The female fleas need blood before they lay eggs. A female flea can produce 4000 eggs on the fur of the dogs. There are flea colors that are available in the market but the veterinarians do not advise them to use those most often.
Another method for home remedies for dog allergies is by using a paste of garlic or brewer's yeast in your dog's food. Some other options like eucalyptus, rosemary, fennel, yellow dock and wormwood can be used to get rid of dog fleas. You can try making an herbal powder to kill fleas. Take equal amount of the above mentioned herbs in powder form and mixed them well. Sprinkle this powder form on the dog's coat and thoroughly massage it. A few drops of eucalyptus oil and rosemary oil can be used on the fabric covered or plain canvas color of the dog.
- DOG HOT SPOTS are those infections that most often occur in dogs and are highly prone to flea allergy. You can actually see the sign of this allergy. The symptoms are hair loss, redness and oozing. There is also pain which you can notice in your pets as they growl when you touch the infected area.
The best home remedies for dog allergies like hot spots are using black tea. Black tea dries the wound along with relieving it. It contains tannic acids which does the above mentioned functions. Take a tea bag for a minute in hot water and then remove it. After cooling it use it on the dog hot spot for sometime, say around 15 minutes. Follow these steps for around 6-7 times a day.
- DOG DRY SKIN: Most dog lovers notice the dry skin of their dogs during winters. Like humans even they can suffer from dandruff and itchy skin. - DOG ODOR: For this you can use 1 quart, 3 percent hydrogen peroxide and 1 tsp of liquid dish wash. Use this mixture and rub it down the skin of your dog.
