This is effective as this kills the bacteria which are responsible for food poisoning, E. coli and salmonella. You can consume 100 mg of the ginger extract in capsule form or chew it raw as well. There are other methods like having ginger tea or even consuming a ginger candy will help you to get rid of any gas pain.
  • Another herbal treatment for gas pains are the cumin seeds. Apart from improving digestion it can be used to reduce gas pains as well. It contains some compound called thymol which secretes the digestive enzymes that will stimulate digestion and reduce any pain associated with it.

You can try some other remedies to reduce the pain and the symptoms associated with it.

  • Mix some carom seeds and ginger powder with a little amount of black salt. Have this after a meal to get quick relief from gas pains.
  • You can try out some preventive measures like before taking your meal have a glass of warm water. Put some cinnamon powder in the water. This will prevent any gas formation.
  • Prepare tea using some peppermint, fennel or chamomile to reduce the gas pains. These are effective to make the muscles of the digestive tract smooth and calm from any kind of pain.
  • Another method is prepared by using 2 grams of asafetida with a glass of warm water. Drink this two times a day to lessen the gas pains.
  • Herbal teas are beneficial for gas pains. This will reduce belching and bloating as well.
  • A reliable home remedy for gas pains is the apple cider vinegar. Put few tablespoons of the solution in a cup of water. This is very effective and you will observe the results in a jiffy!
  • Belching and flatulence can reduce the pains associated with gas. This can be done by mixing some amount of cola and baking soda in small amounts.
  • Another alternate method to reduce the gas pains is with the help of celery. This also helps to keep away the pain . Munch a teaspoon of celery properly and without swallowing spit this out.
  • Bay leaves are also effective for reducing gas pains. Use half teaspoon of bay leaves and boil this in a glass of water. Before drinking the liquid, seep and strain it properly. Drink this calmly and slowly so that you do not consume any air which may result in gas pains.
  • Tangerine peels are effective to treat gas pains. Use them in the preparation of tea. You can also consume the peels if you wish for. This also improves the digestion as well.
  • Many seeds have found to be effective for some immediate relief from gas pains. For e.g. seeds like caraway, fennel and dill are extremely effective for such kind of pains. Use a teaspoon of these crushed seeds and add them in a cup of boiled water. Consume the drink after steeping and straining.

For babies gas pains you can try out some of the methods at home which are given below:

  • A hot water bottle which is slightly warm should be placed around the stomach. This will reduce the gas pain in babies. This will relax the intestines and relief the baby from the gas pains.
  • Breast milk is the best medicine you can give to your child at the time of such pains.
  • Gripe water is also effective as this aids the digestion process and prevents any kind of gas formation in the stomach that may result to gas pains.
  • A burp is also effective to reduce the gas pains. Thus make sure that the baby burps regularly when feeding. This will reduce the extra gas from their stomach and this is how the content of gas is reduced and the pain as well.
  • Massage the stomach of the baby with some oil. This will also help in releasing the air and reduce the problem. However, if the pain extends for more than two days, consult your doctor immediately.

In addition to the home remedies for gas pains, try out some effective exercises which will reduce the problem. Lie on your back and put your legs up to the chest for sometime. Go for a evening and morning walks as this will help with the digestion. Drink 8-10 liters of water daily as this too will reduce the gas pains.
