Gum diseases or infections known as periodontitis can destroy the bone and soft tissue that supports the teeth. - Gentle massage can be very effective for the gums. Use a rubber bristle toothbrush or you can also use your index finger or the thumb to massage the gums. Do this for at least 5-6 minutes and for two times a day for some effective results. This massage improves the blood circulation in the gums and also removes the bacteria.
- If you are looking for some herbal treatment for your gum diseases than you can use burdock root. Steep a teaspoon of this root in a glass of water and allow cooling to the room temperature. - Another alternate method can be prepared is by using rose petals. Use few handfuls Rose petals and prepare the mouthwash to see some very effective results.
- The leaves of rosemary are also effective for gum diseases. Use these leaves and wash them properly before crushing them and use this to massage the gums. This will help to improve the blood circulation and heal the gum problems as well.
- Baking soda is very effective and used almost in many home remedies. Use this soda for the purpose of brushing, it will not only purify the mouth but also you'll feel fresh. As a matter of fact, most of the toothpaste in the market has baking soda as a key ingredient.
- Tea tree oil is also effective for gums. Use this oil for at least two times a week when you brush your teeth. This contains some antibiotics and antiseptics that can reduce any kind gum diseases and infections.
- You can also opt for some Aloe Vera to the gums at night before you go to sleep. Dab a little amount of the gel and spread smoothly on the gums and allow this for quite sometime before spitting this out. This will improve your gum condition and also fasten the healing process. However, use 100 % pure form of Aloe Vera.
- Apart from all these, the most important is to heal this from within. Include vitamins in the diet and also eat food rich in vitamin C which will help to reduce the problem. Other vitamins that you can include are B-complex, zinc, magnesium.
- Honey is another effective for gum related problems. These have some anti microbial properties that helps in treating the gum diseases. In fact it is found to stop the growth of dental plague which is one of the factors of gum diseases. In addition to this it also has antioxidants that are beneficial for the prevention of radicals that kills the healthy cells of the body.
- One of the age old home remedy is the clove. Cloves and clove oil are effective for gums which can be helpful to reduce the pain and discomfort due to the gum soreness.
- Regular swilling of the mouth with saline water removes the bacteria that may otherwise lead to gum problem.
- Lemon juice also dissolves the plaque that is one of the factors of gum problems. Because of the acidic nature this is effective to kill the bacteria in the mouth.
You can try out any of these home remedies for gum diseases to see the results. These are extremely effective for milder form of gum problems. However, do remember to consult your dentist while trying any of them. Finally maintain a good oral hygiene to reduce any oral related problem.
