There may be many of you who are facing the problem of arachnophobia and are trying ways and means to get rid of those crawling creatures. Nevertheless, you can try out some very good home remedies for killing spiders! Spiders do have many benefits as they kill many unwanted insects.
A fact about spiders is that if they are kept safe, can live and grow for a very long period time. They cannot die of any natural cause. And these creatures love dirty and unhygienic, dark and undisturbed area.
There are many chemicals that kill insects and spiders as well. But most of them leave the environment filled with some toxic chemicals. Hence you can try out some very good home remedies for killing spiders which are completely natural and are not at all harmful for your health!
- Essential oils such as cinnamon oil, citronella oil, peppermint oil, lavender oil, rose oil and tea tree oil can be effective to control these pests. All you have to spray a mixture of 4 tablespoon of essential oil and 4 tablespoon of natural soap and a quart of water and mix them all well. Spray these on the areas where you see the spiders and you'll notice the affect when most of them are killed and few of them can ward off.
- You can try using some pennyroyal oil with the help of cotton ball or a scrap cloth and place them on the affected area where you see the spiders.
- You can also try sprinkling some of borax in areas like shallow lids or on the floors or ceiling or under the couches where they likely to make their webs!
- Kerosene too works well when it comes to getting rid of these crawling creatures. This is inflammable so be a little extra cautious while using them.
- A simple way to get rid of spider can be done by using some eucalyptus leaves and keep them in places like closets, furniture and drawers.
- Orange pill also work well in getting rid of the spiders and can be used in the same manner as those eucalyptus leaves.
- Tobacco works well to kill and get rid of spiders. Use some package of tobacco and soak them in a gallon of water. Boil this for about 15 minutes say and allow this to cool. After you strain them put them in a liquid container. Use a half cup of this liquid and mix them with half cup of a dish wash preferably the ones that have lemons in them and spray these mixture on the affected area.
- You can also go for glue traps that capture a variety of insects and bugs which may eventually attract a spider as well. However, you need to replace them quite often for the dead pest accumulation.
- Lemons too can work well to get rid of them as these creatures do not like the taste of lemons. This is a very a good reason to keep them away from your house.
- Ammonia can help to kill these creatures. After this is done, take some diluted solution of kerosene and clean the area. This will ensure that the wards will not be back!
- Chestnuts are effective to get rid of spiders. You simply have to put them on the walls of your room and the windowsills to get rid of them.
Some preventive measures and tips:
- Keep your room clutter free as these may be some favorite places for spiders to hide and burrow. Therefore the best thing you can do is to avoid any unnecessary clutter.
- You can also try using some diatomaceous earth and sprinkle them on the places where they may love to hide. And as a preventive measure, sprinkle them outside your home as well.
- Vacuum your rooms regularly and keep your walls as tidy and clean as possible. This is the best way in which you can get rid of these pests.
- Keep your room bugs free as this may be the main reason to live in your house as they feed on these bugs.
- Keep your garden clean as less thrash means less chance for spiders to enter your house as there will no places for these tiny creatures to hide.
- Keep your food tightly covered as these will prevent bugs enter your house and spiders as well.
- Trim the bushes and trees and other sort of vegetation and do not allow them touch your house walls.
To get rid of these pests may be very difficult and especially if you live somewhere near a lake or pond. These home remedies for killing spiders are effective and really helpful as few of the spiders can be very dangerous for the kids and pets.
