  • Giloi (Tinospora cordifolia) is a plant commonly available in many areas. Take a one-foot long giloi branch and add 5 to 6 leaves of tulsi. Boil these in water for 15 to 20 minutes or long enough so that water can extract its properties. Add black peeper, rock or black salt, sendha (salt used for religious fasts) and misri (crystalised sugar lumps) according to taste. Allow it to cool a bit and drink this concoction while still warm. It will work effectively for your body's immunity. If giloi plant is not available you can use giloi powder and make a similar drink and take it once a day.   • Take a small piece of camphor (kapoor) once or twice a month. It should be approximately the size of a tablet. Adults can swallow it and children can take it with mashed bananas or potatoes as they may find it difficult to swallow it without any aides. Do not take camphor everyday.   • Aloe Vera is a commonly available and very useful plant. Its long and thick cactus-like leaves have a fragrance-free gel. Take a teaspoon of this gel with water daily.   • You can also take homeopathic medicines. Take Inflenzium 200 and Pyrogenium 200, 5 tablets 3 times a day. These will work against the common flu viruses.

  • Have plenty of citrus fruits especially vitamin C rich Indian gooseberry (amla) juice. If amla is not available in the market you can also buy packaged amla juice. This fruit is very effective in protection of common flu viruses.

  • Drink lemon balm tea because they contain anti viral actions that can treat swine flu. Drink this tea 2 times a day. This is also one of the productive home remedies for swine flu.

  • Inhale steam with chamomile or eucalyptus 3 time s a day. Steam inhalation can relieve you from jamming of the lungs. This will also help you to lessen the swine flu symptoms. Steam inhalation is also one of the excellent home remedies for swine flu.

Exercise is very important for your body's immunity system. Go for morning walk regularly or jogging. It will help to keep your lungs and throat in good condition and body in fine health. Exercise will work wonder in building up resistance against diseases that attack nose, lungs and throat besides keeping you fit.

  • To prevent swine flu wash your hands daily with soap and water. Do this especially before meals or after touching an object that you suspect to have been contaminated with swine flu viruses such as door handles etc. Be extra cautious after you have used a public transport or have returned form a public place. Keep alcohol-based hand cleaners near you all the time.

  • Eat home cooked food as it is good for your body's resistance.

  • Avoid going to crowded places or before going to a crowded place wear gloves and cover your mouth with a mask.

  • Prevent virus from entering your system by always covering your mouth with your hands while some body is sneezing near you.
