Home Remedies for Wart Removal
Warts are small and rough tumor-like that usually occurs on the hands and feet. It is also known as verruca. These are non-cancerous epidermal growth which are of many types and can occur all over the body. There are about 10 varieties of them and most of them are regarded harmless. Warts can be contagious but there is a rare case of the infection to transmit from one person to another. However, there are some suggested home remedies for wart removal that can work best for you!
Types of Warts:
These solid like blisters can vary in shape and the location where they occur. Some of the common types of warts are:
- Common wart which is seen on hands but can grow anywhere on the body
- Flat wart which is a small and flattened wart that occur in large numbers and can be seen on the face, neck, hands, wrists and knees
- Genital warts occur on the genitalia
- Mosaic wart on the hands and soles of feet
- Periungual wart are like cluster of warts that resembles a cauliflower occur around the nails
- Plantar wart that occur on the pressure points of the soles and has multiple black specks at the centre
Causes of Warts:
The different types of HPV (human papilloma virus) cause this condition. These can pass on from close skin contact as well or through towels and clothes.
- Biting and scratching of a wart can also spread the infection
- Sucking fingers
- Biting the finger nails can spread the warts to the fingertips and around the nails.
- Shaving the face and legs can also cause the wart to spread
Symptoms for Warts:
The common warts are usually:
- Small, fleshy and grainy bumps
- They are flesh-colored that can become white, pink and tan
- Rough to touch
- If picked or cut the warts can bleed
- Contains tiny black spots which are also called as wart seeds
Warts are different from moles and are caused by HPV that result in a hard protein that grows too fast on the skin. Moles on the other hand are dark and can quite large.
Following are some very good home based remedies that will help to cure the problem:
- Essential oil like that of tea tree oil is effective for warts. Before applying this on the affected area, dilute some of the oil and using a cotton swan apply this on the area for a couple of times a day.
- A particular herb that will boost the immune system is the Echinacea. All you need to take a dropper full of the tincture thrice a day and continue this for about 10 days.
- Another very common and effective way to treat the condition is to soak some lemon slices in a solution of apple cider vinegar. Add a pinch of salt the solution and keep this for two weeks. Rub this slice on the wart for some time for 3 times a day. Continue this for a week to see some valid result.
- Garlic by far is the best and has some very powerful anti-viral properties. You simply can prepare a poultice with some crushed raw garlic. Apply this crushed garlic on the affected area and cover this with a bandage. Keep this for 24 hours and you may finally see a blister. After a week the warts usually falls off.
- Vitamin E oil will protect the skin and help the skin to heal quickly.
- Raw potatoes are also helpful to get rid of the warts. You can simply cut a slice of the potato and rub on the affected area. Use this as much as you can in a day time. And for best result continue it for a week or two.
- Herbal tea is also effective to speed the healing process of warts. Prepare a strong tea of calendula by seeping 2 tablespoon of the herb and allow the water to boil for 20 minutes. You can either drink the tea or apply on the wart. Both are effective.
- One of the age old remedies for wart is aloe vera. You can either use this in the form of cream or apply directly the plant on the affected skin. This will reduce the discomfort and speed up the healing process.
- You can also use some castor oil on the wart area. After the application of oil, bandage it and keep this for few hours. Follow this method three times a day until you see the wart gets dissolved.
Other methods that can help lessen the symptoms are:
- Coriander leaves are also effective for the treatment of warts. You can add some pinch of turmeric to the juice of the leaves and apply externally on the affected area.
- Cloves can also help to improve the condition. Rub clove oil on the wart area. Use this for a couple of weeks until the warts vanishe.
- Duct tape can also help to remove the dead skin around the wart. This will further activate the immune system and help to fight the virus from within.
In addition to these home remedies for wart removal, take good care of warts as this can easily spread!
